Our mental health is like a forest. You can’t focus on just one tree.

Thassit Lab is a not-for-profit community interest consultancy dedicated to mental health innovation. We design wellbeing interventions a bit differently to everyone else because we believe that mental health is about more than just your brain - it’s about how we live together too.

Some of the services we offer include:

  • mental health and wellbeing training

  • organisational audits and wellbeing-informed service recommendations

  • community research

  • project development

If you’re interested in hearing more, don’t hesitate to get in contact for a friendly and informal chat.

There’s a better way to do it. We’ll find it.

Looking for connections.

Our mental state is a natural response to our environment. Rather than focus on what individuals in isolation can do to improve their wellbeing, we also look at the wider systems they live in. Like when parents are happy, it’s easier for kids to be happy too and vice versa. This means we can design more effective interventions because we look at both the forest and the trees.

The right expertise.

“I don’t know much about art but I know what I like”. When it comes to your mental health, you are the best person to ask about what works for you. That’s why we match our psychological skills with your personal expertise to co-design solutions that fit you. We won’t pretend we know what suits your circumstances better than you.

A unique method of working.

What makes us unique is how we bring high-level systems thinking and scientific research together with individual-level psychology and design techniques. Thassit Lab is built on the idea that the same processes that mean the technology sector can quickly build intuitive products can equally be applied to mental health and wellbeing. When this is combined with big picture thinking and high quality evidence, the result is effective, sustainable solutions to protect and grow mental health for everyone.

Bringing innovation to you.

Thassit Lab offers a consultation service to help you identify areas of concern and rapidly test different ideas to improve the wellbeing of your setting, whether that is a school, office, department or service. We’re not just another mindfulness service - the solutions will be as unique as you are.

We also take some of the best ideas and knowledge from our consultation service and make them available to others so as many people as possible can benefit from mental health innovation.

Future-proofing.

The way we work emphasises the importance of sustainability and making sure the impact of our work will continue. Whatever we discover, we will plan with you to create a continuous develop plan to keep solutions fresh and relevant.

Founder

Katherine is a qualified psychologist and has worked in the NHS as a therapist for seven years. She gained her doctorate in clinical psychology from UCL, but felt individual therapy was too limited in its approach to mental health. She founded Thassit Labs as a way to spark more creativity in the sector, and begs, borrows and steals from any discipline that gets too close.
